November 16, 2007
![]() Dave MacKenzie MP for Oxford has teamed up with Project Porchlight Ontario to delivery energy efficient light bulbs and hot cider to the residents of Oxford at Woodstock's local Farmers Market Saturday November 24th from 6:00am-12:00pm. The program is supported by Ontario Power Authority, EnCana Corporation, Natural Resources Canada, Ontario Ministry of Energy, Ontario Trillium Foundation, and TD Bank Financial Group to name a few. Project Porchlight is an energy efficient campaign run by One Change, an Ottawa-based non-profit organization that advocates community engagement and environmental stability. The campaign promotes a practical and realistic was to use less electricity. Volunteers and staff hand out, door-to-door and through community events like Dave MacKenzie's on Saturday November 24th at Woodstock's Farmers Market energy -efficient light bulbs. The small change of switching to energy-efficient light bulbs can represent the first step in a lifetime of making energy conscious choices. Putting a free energy-efficient bulb in someone's hand for them to install decreases energy consumption, lowers greenhouse gas emissions, and effectively communicates a critical message: saving money and protecting the environment start with simple actions like changing a light bulb. For more information or how you and your family can get involved please visit http://www.projectporchlight.com/ *Please note that one light bulb per household will be distributed. |
